Road to the Wedding Part.1....

*Hey everyone. I know the mood is down within the team because of earlier events, I hope this makes you a little happy. Know that Nicki still loves us, just give her time to breath. OK onto Story news, The next couple of chapters will not be the length that you are used to, don't crucify me for it. I'm sorry for the time span between chapters but everything has to be right and make sense. So if that requires extra time then that's what I'll do to make sure i give you quality. Nicki was on her way to have the children refitted for their wedding dresses and suit. She had been in full mommy mode lately. Her babies made her forget about the mess she had made of her life. Helping Daria get better at her reading was a task but she was determined to get her baby girl on track. Ethan had been up under her giving her all the love she needed, she loved how they have had a special connection since he was born. He hadn't let her out of his sight in the past couple days. Zaria had been talking her ear off about this wedding. Nicki now knew that Zaria did not approve of the color scheme and thought the icing she picked for the cake tasted funny.

"Mommy do I have to wear a suite like daddy?"

"Yes Ethan, we've been over this already."

"Why can't I just wear a t-shirt and sneakers like daddy?"

"Your daddy is not wearing that." She pulled up to the location. "Hell he might not even be there." she mumbled to herself.

"Mommy do me and Daria have to match?" Zaria asked eating her sucker.

"Yes." Nicki got out the car and retrieved them as well.

"But why mommy?" Daria whined.

"Why don't you want to match your sister?"

"She's ugly." Daria said as they got on the elevator.

"I look just like you." Zaria rolled her neck a bit and Nicki snickered. "So you're ugly too."

"Stop it right now you two. You are wearing the same color so deal with it." Both girls huffed. "Give me that sucker little girl." Nicki took the sucker wrapped it up and took a wipe out to wipe her mouth and hands.

"Aww mommy I didn't get the bubble gum."

"You have more at home to eat."

The elevator doors opened and they walked in to meet with Vera again.

Safaree

Safaree had went to go stay with his mother for a couple of days until he got his head together. He knew his mom would have an answer for whatever he was going through. He still went to go spend time with the kids during their lunch everyday. When he looked at his girls he saw so much of their mother, it was hard to look at them when he was mad at her. To Safaree his kids were his world he just wish he could add Nicki to his permanently.

Safaree knew what he was getting himself into when he started messing around with Nicki again knowing she was taken. He never thought he would fall even more deeply in love with her. Safaree thought he would treat there affair as he did the rest of the women he had messed with since her. But Nicki would never be like the basic women he has dated.

"Safaree get up." His mother  came in his room and snatched back the blinds letting in the rays from the sun.

"Ma no!" Safaree pulled the covers over his head and mumbled something inaudible.

"Yes and I mean now!"

Safaree felt the covers snatched from his possession.

"Why you trippin?" He yelled.

"Safaree Lloyd Samules if you ever live to see another day you bet not ever raise your voice at me again. Have you lost your mind?" She looked at him as if he were that little boy that use to run around getting into things around the neighborhood.

"I'm sorry ma, I didn't mean to disrespect you. What time is it?" He sat on the side of the bed rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.

"Now that's better. It's past noon, you missed the kids lunch today."

"Damn, I'll go see them tomorrow."

"Safaree you need to go see them today. A child should never go a day without seeing there mother or father."

Safaree just huffed.

"Now I don't know what's going on between you and Nicki but you better fix it and fix it quick. You know how she gets when your not around."

"And that's my problem why?" He got up to go start his shower.

"That's the mother of your children not to mention your best friend." She looked at him confused by his actions.

"Well everything is not always about Nicki and what she wants and needs."

"Since when? It's been that way since you two were 13 years old, so why is it changing now?"

"I need to start thinking about me and my kids. Nicki is moving on with her life and it doesn't have me figured in to it." he clenched his jaw. His mother walked to him and placed her hand on his face.

"Baby you still love her, you need to go tell her."

"It doesn't matter now, she made her choice."

"What does that mean "She made her choice"?"

Safaree just moved past her and looked in his duffle for clothes to wear for the day. He couldn't tell his mother about the affair.

"Well I see you have shut down and I'm not going to get anything out of you. Your lunch is downstairs in the microwave." She walked towards the door but Safaree pulled her into a hug before she got to it.

"I love you mama."

"I love you too. Now hurry up and get ready, you need to eat something you look frail." Safaree laughed and let her go.

"Alright ma I'll be down in a few."

Later that night.

Nicki Was making the kids plates for dinner, Zaria said she was craving sloppy joe. What Zaria knew about cravings was beyond Nicki but the others agreed so that's what her babies got. The triplets were in the front room when the doorbell rang.

"Hey you three quiet down in there." Nicki wiped her hands and walked to the front door. She didn't look through the peep hole to check to see who it was she just opened  the door. She was surprised to see who was standing on her front porch. "Hi." was all she managed to get out.

"Are the kids here?" Safaree asked showing he wasn't interested in small talk with her.

"Um yeah, come on in." She moved to the side to let him pass. She watched him disappear into the living room and heard the chipper sounds of the kids greeting their father.

Walking back into the kitchen she tried finding the words to apologize to Safaree for ever proposing the get involved with each other again.

"Mommy, mommy, can daddy stay for dinner?" Ethan was pulling Safaree by the hand into the kitchen.

"Naw E-man mommy probably wants to have time with you guys and Damon."

"Mommy please?" Ethan begged.

"if he doesn't have any plans it's alright if he stays." Nicki said turning around and putting food on Daria's plate.

"See daddy, so are you going to stay?" Ethan looked up at his daddy.

"Alright little man I'll stay."

"Yay." The kids yelled out.

"Go wash your hands ya little devils." Nicki ordered and made a crazy face at them. Daria returned an even crazier one before running off which shocked Nicki into laughter.

When the kids left the room there was an awkward silence between the two while Nicki put the plates on the table. Safaree just leaned against the island watching her, trying to figure out what to say but she beat him to it.

"Safaree I'm sorry." Nicki blurted out. Safaree stared at her for a second.

"Sorry for what?" he crossed his arms.

"For everything that has happened to get us to this point."

"And what point is that?"

"Where we can't even have a conversation that's not about the kids. We haven't spoken in days Safaree, that's not us. If i would have known that arrangement would hurt us as friends like this I would have never offered the idea."

"Yeah it was pretty selfish." Safaree said nonchalantly. Nicki was taken aback by his statement.

"I know, I'm trying to make things right."

I don;t think things can be right at this moment. Let's just get through this and I'll be out of you and Damon's home."

"Safaree please don't do this."

"Do what? What you asked? I'm giving you what you wanted."

"This is not what I wanted Safaree." She walked closer to him.

"You couldn't have possibly thought I wouldn't catch feelings while being intimate with you. You're lying if you say you did. Now we are here and can't go back. You chose Damon. The only thing I care about is my kids at this point." Safaree stopped when he heard the kids coming back so they moved away from each other. Nicki had tears in her eyes but wiped them quickly before the kids seen.

"You ready to eat daddy?" Zaria asked.

"Yeah baby girl, you gonna sit by daddy?"

"Yes." He pulled out her chair so she could sit then did the same for Daria. He always did gentlemen type things for his girls so they would know what they deserved from a man when the time came for them.

Nicki dropped his plate in front of him harder than was needed causing the children to jump.

"You can help your kids clean up after they are finished and put them to bed since you're in such a fatherly mood."

Nicki went around and kissed each of them goodnight then made her way upstairs. She couldn't be in the same space as him right now. She loved him and didn't like the feeling of being rejected by him. She pulled her finance book out to go over them and laid across the bed. Nicki slipped on her glasses but her phone rang before she could get focused.

"Hello."

"Hey baby, what you doin?"

"Nothing just going over the books. Where you at?" She leaned back against her pillows.

"On my way to you, why you going through your books?"

"Gotta make sure everything is going straight and everything is taken care of for the wedding."

"You need to get an accountant for all that stuff. I can get you one if you want, The accountant at my job is a very good one."

"No, I'm good baby."

"Okay suit yourself. Well tonight I got something for you." She could feel him smiling through the phone.

"Oh really? What do you have for me?" She put on her flirty voice.

"I can show you better than I can tell you."

"Well in that case I can't wait then." She giggled.

"Alright, well I'll be with you shortly. Love you."

"Love you too baby." She hung up.

Nicki fell asleep watching her TL speculate about what the wedding is going to look like. She didn't get the chance to put her finance book away.

Damon came walking through the door as Safaree was turning out the lights and headed home. Safaree was cordial but Damon knew something had changed in Safaree's attitude towards him. He would address it on a later date. Damon walked into the bedroom to find a sleeping Nicki sprawled out on the bed. He spotted the book next to her.

"Bingo." He slowly pulled the book from under her arm tucked her in and went to his study for the next several hours.

*Like I said the next couple of chapters will be short. I'm trying to get questions answered before the wedding. Do you feel like everything is clear and understandable so far?
