Did That Just Happen...

"What just happened?" Safaree thought to himself sitting on the floor a little ways from Nicki. She sat with her legs gaped and the bottom of her big poofy dress draped in between. She was just as stunned as him at what had just went down in Safarees house. They looked around at all the half eaten plates and half drank cups of punch, which was the culprit. Nicki sat with a dazed expression on her face trying not to make eye contact with Safaree, The last 15 minutes playing over in her mind as well as Safarees. Nickis make-up was smeared from earlier.

"So are we going to talk about it?" Safaree asked. She looked up at his face, she wasn't sure but was almost positive hers mirrored his.

"I--I...I don't know where to begin Safaree. I would have never thought all that would happen." She looked at him with a dazed face.

"Babe where you at?" a voice rang out breaking the silence. Both scrambled to their feet and grabbed something to look busy. When Damon walked into the room he looked back and forth between the two and their "I ain't do shit." faces. Nicki was drying an already dry plate and Safaree was sweeping a perfectly clean floor. "What's the matter?" he asked.

"Nothing, why?" they asked simultaneously.

"Just looks like something happen?" he shrugged his shoulders and let it go. "What an amazing night huh?" he walked and wrapped his arms around Nicki from behind.

"Yeah Mommy and Daddy looked like they had a really good time." Nicki said.

"40 years of Marriage and they are still in love, I hope to have that one day." Damon said and kissed Nickis cheek. She smiled and moved from his arms putting a container of food in the fridge. "Safaree what are you about to get into?"

"Probably shower and go to bed after you two leave." him and Nicki made eye contact and broke it quickly.

"Okay. Babe you ready?"

"I have to help Safaree clean up."

"No it's okay go ahead." Safaree said.

"You can't clean this by yourself Safaree." the three surveyed the living room area. It was a train wreck.

"I got Nic go ahead and go home. I'll see you tomorrow." He knew she wanted to stay and talk but he needed to wrap his head around all that happened.

"OK Safaree." she slipped on her heels and grabbed her purse off the counter. "We'll talk tomorrow." it was said as a statement but he knew she was asking and making sure he wouldn't clam up.

"Yes Nicki tomorrow. Goodnight you two."

"Night SB." Damon walked around and dapped him up.

"Night." She slipped her arm around Damons and they headed out. Once in the car Nickis phone buzzed indicating she had a text message, she checked it.

Nickis stomach dropped.

Nicki was at her first movie premier party two years ago when she meet Damon. She was mingling with the guest when she was bumped by him on accident, spilling her drink on her dress. He was very apologetic and wanted to pay for the dress. It was a Vera Wang dress and she highly doubted he could pay for it. She stormed off with her glam team behind her, luckily she always had a spare outfit with her for such occasions. Once the glam team finished getting her ready Nicki  made her way back into the main room, wishing it would be over so she could go home. Nicki went an stood off so she wouldn't be noticed. She spotted the nameless man at the time walking towards her.

"God what does he want now?" she said under her breath.

"Again I just want to say that I am so very sorry for what happened earlier. Here I brought you another glass of champagne." he handed her the filled glass.

"You're not going to spill this one on me are you?" she said only half jokingly. She gave him her dazzling smile.

"I promise. I really would like to pay for the dress i ruined, It's silk so I know it's not salvageable." she was a little impressed, a little.

"No it's fine really."

"No I insist Nicki."

"I really don't think you could afford to replace the dress, so it's fine." she said not trying to come off as an uppity snob, but she did. He was taken aback a bit with her comment. She sensed that she had offended him. "I didn--"

"What makes you think I can't pay for the dress?" he asked. No attitude and no clear facial expression.

"I just don't think it's necessary for you to dip into your savings to try and pay for a dress that really means nothing to me." there went her big mouth running before she could catch it. He laughed. "I'm sorry." she was silently cursing herself.

"Since I'm not a celebrity you think I'm some broke ass nigga?" he had a smug grin on his face. "Listen closely, I am a CFO of Fresh Market INC. and have been since the age of 26. Last year it grossed over 64 million. My checking and savings are very cushioned. I could buy you two truck loads of Vera Wang dresses and my account would still look as beautiful as it does now. So before you open that pretty little mouth of yours to judge, think." He then walked away and disappeared into the crowd.

Nicki just stood with her mouth slightly ajar. She had never really had a man to ever put her in her place the way he had. There was no cursing, no raising his voice or calling her out her name. He just said what needed to be said and that was that, she liked that. She sat her drink down and went to go find him, she stopped when she saw him talking to Safaree and his group of friends. Nicki stood in the same spot for what seemed like forever trying to make up her mind on whether to turn around and retreat back to the other side of the room or go for what she wanted. She decided on the latter. Walking up to the group of men they all greeted her except the guy she exchanged words with.

"May I speak to you alone?" she touched his arm gently. He took a sip of his drink and stared at her in her eyes.

"Sure. I'll be back fellas."  He offered his arm and she took it. They went and sat at a vacant table so they could talk.

"Listen I just want to say I am so sorry for what I said to you. It was completely out of line for me to judge you the way that I did. And no I don't think you are some no good nigga that can't pay his bills because you are not famous." They both laughed. "So do you accept my apology?" She placed her hand over his.

Sitting his glass down he placed his hand over hers. "Only on one condition."

"What's that?" she asked.

"Well since you don't want me paying for the dress, let me take you out to lunch."

Nicki sat contemplating the idea. Since she and Safaree broke up she hadn't been on a date. All she did was work and take care of the kids, she needed to live a little.

"Sure, why not. Let me give you my number." she took his cell phone out of his jacket pocket and entered her number. "By the way what is your name? While I'm just agreeing to go to lunch with you." she smiled

"Damon." he stated.

"So Damon do you have a last name?"

"Davenport, Damon Davenport."

"Alright Mr. Davenport, well I'm Nicki." she handed him back his phone after calling her number, so she would have his.

"I know who you are Ms. Minaj. I'm headed out, It was nice meeting you." he stood, she did as well. "I'll call you later in the week to see when you are available." He grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it.

"Talk to you then." she said not being able to contain her wide grin. She watched him leave. They have been together every since.

Nicki felt someones hand on her shoulder, jolting her out of her thoughts.

"Baby we're home." she looked up to see Damons caramel face smiling at her. "What were you thinking about?" he asked helping her out of the car.

"You." she slid her hand around his waist as they walked up the entry way into Nickis home.

"Good thoughts I hope."

"Always baby." walking into the house she disarmed the security system, then headed for the stairs with Damon behind her.

Nicki was still thinking about what happened after Damon left to take the kids and her mother home. She couldn't believe her and Safaree had gotten busy on his kitchen floor or at all  for that matter. Yeah she was tipsy but not to the point to where she didn't have control over her actions. So why did she do it? She loved Damon, hell she was wearing his engagement ring, not Safarees. She was so confused and mad at herself. Damon loved her with everything in him and her children, so why had she betrayed him the she did?

Walking out of the bathroom dressed in her pajamas, she climbed in the bed. Pulling out her account book from her night stand, she continued to rack her brain over the incident. Could I still love Safaree? Well of course I love him we have been friends for years. You know what you mean, do you love him love him? Maybe. She shook her head of the thought. "I'm in love with Damon, not Safaree." she said.

"What did you say babe?" She looked up over her glasses to see Damon standing in just his boxers. She looked over his 6ft 6in frame, he had the muscles of a God. She licked her lips moving downward towards his v-cut, LL didn't have shit on him. She looked at his powerful legs that had held her weight up during many of love making sessions. "Babe what did you say?" she snapped back.

"Nothing babe." she pushed her glasses up on her face. "Can you get me some water please?"

"Sure, be right back." he left out the room. Nicki picked up her phone and texted Safaree back.

Doll Face
Make me an appointment for as soon as possible, we know how your seed spreads.

Safaree picked up his phone and read her text, laughing at the last part but her knew this was no laughing matter.

I called Dr. Reynolds office and left a message already for her to call me back as soon as she can. Did you tell Damon?

Doll Face
Hell naw, I value my life and yours. If the test comes back positive then I'll tell him but if not it was a mistake that will never happen again.

Goodnight Safaree.

"Here you go baby." He sat her glass on her stand. "Anything else?"

"Nope just get in the bed." She would finish looking over the finances tomorrow. She snuggled close to Damon, taking in his Dolce & Gabanna cologne. She slipped her leg over his, she could feel his manhood against her leg and could tell what was on his mind. "Not tonight babe, I'm tired. Can you just hold me?" she wouldn't feel right sexing him after just hours ago being with Safaree. Damon pulled her completely on top of him and held her around the waist.

"Night babe." his baritone voice broke through the stillness of the room.

"Night." She propped her head up to kiss his lips.

Safaree tossed the phone on to his bed. He was

"Damon can you go get Ethan ready please." he stopped in mid stride and stared. She felt him staring and turned to look at him while she slipped Darias shoes on. "What?"

"What?" Zaria mimicked her mommy playing with her baby doll in their play area.

"You know he never listens to me, why can't I finish getting Daria ready?"

Nicki didn't understand why he allowed Ethan to run him. Every since they started dating a year ago, him and Ethan never really clicked. She thought it was because Ethan and Safaree had such a strong bond, Ethan didn't like any other man around her except his uncles.

"Who's the adult Damon?" she picked up Daria and planted her feet on the ground. The little one took off towards her sister to play before they had to go to daycare. "Nope come back." Daria stopped in her tracks and turned around and ran back. Nicki sat in the glider and began doing her hair.

"Fine." he walked out the room and across to Ethans room. She heard Damon tell Ethan to hand him his clothes and she heard Ethan protest, saying he could do it himself. "I know but i want to help."

"NO! Go away, I can do it." Ethan yelled.

"Ethan Lloyd." Nicki said not yelling but sounding very stern. "Get in here now." she continued to braid Darias hair. Ethan came out of his room dragging his feet. "You think I'm playing?" he picked up his pace and stood to the side of her looking at his small feet. She continued braiding then put the barrette at the end. "Go ahead toot." Daria got up and went to go play and Nicki turned to Ethan. "What's your problem?"

"Nothing."

"Something must be wrong because you are in there being disrespectful." she pointed to his room never taking her eyes off him. "Look at me when I'm  speaking to you." his head snapped up. "Get in there and get your clothes on so we can go." he turned around. "Hey." he turned back. "Gimme kisses." he kissed her lips. "You still mamas baby?" he shook his head yes walking out of the girls room.

Ethan gave Damon a death glare as he entered his room but he let him help put on his clothes.

"Mommy I'm ready. Can I have my cologne?" Nicki smirked at his request. Ethan made Safaree get him some Gucci cologne like him. Nicki kept it in her room because Ethan would spray it on ten times a day if you let him.

"Yeah man man, come on." he ran to her room. "What did I tell you about running?"

"Not in your house."

"Right." she sprayed him then put it back up. "Oatmeal?"

"I don't want that slave food." he twisted his face. She just shook her head, he must have heard Safaree say that.

"I thought that was your favorite breakfast food?" they walked down the hallway.

"Not any more, I want Crunch Bewies." No you don't, she thought.

"Come on girls, time to eat." They girls held hands and carried their baby dolls downstairs. "What do you want to eat?"

"Cakes, please." Zaria and Daria said together.

"Crunch Bewies." Ethan yelled.

"You don't even like cold cereal Ethan."

"I do mommy."

"Well we don't have Crunch Berries." Nicki grabbed his oatmeal from the cabinet.

"I don't want that."

"You're such a cry baby." Daria said.

"Shut up."

"Watch your mouth little boy." he sat in his seat with his bottom lip poked out. The house phone rang. "Hello." she answered.

"Hows the gang doing this morning?" Safaree asked.

"We are getting it together, I'm about to cook breakfast. Why did you tell the boy that O-A-T-M-E-A-L was S-L-A-V-E food?" Safaree burst out laughing.

"I didn't have any last time he was here and he was about to start that crying shit, so I told him that. Why?"

"He won't eat it now because of that. Talking bout he wants Crunch Berries." she looked over at him with his lip still poked out. "He has that bottom soup cooler stinking out like you do when you don't get what you want." Safaree rolled out of his bed and walked to the bathroom to relieve himself.

"I do not do that."

"Ew are you peeing?" she just heard him exhale. "You are you nasty mutha--"

"Watch your mouth around my kids." he said flushing the stool. "And don't act like you haven't been in the bathroom when i have peed before." she heard water running.

"Well that was then this is now and it's gross." she put a big pancake on both the girls plates, added butter, cut it, and added syrup. She put a one sausage link on Darias plate and two on Zarias, that girl could eat.

"Whatever, put me on speaker." she hit the button and laid it down.

"Tell daddy hi."

"Hi daddy." all three screamed.

"What up coon and coonetts." they giggled knowing their mom hated when he called them that.

"Hey don't call them that." she added hot water to Ethans oatmeal, along with butter and sugar. "Here man man." she placed it in front of him and the phone in the middle of the table. He opened his mouth to protest but seen Nickis face and thought better of it. He stirred the oatmeal but didn't eat it. She went to get their juice.

"Daddy I drew you a...um..picture." Zaria said between bites of her sausage.

"You did, of what?" he prayed it wasn't another one of princess.

"A princess." not so lucky.

"I can't wait to see it and hang it up on my wall."

Nicki looked over and Seen Ethan gobbling down his Maple and Brown sugar oatmeal. "I want crunch berries, tuh." she said in her head.

"Dad can you get us today pwease?"

"Me and mommy will be together so we will both pick you up."

"Okay."

"All of you have a good day today. Daria no fighting." She was the scrapper of the group. If anyone picked on her brother or sister, she was the one to handle it.

"Yes daddy."

"I love you."

"Love you." they all said.

"Nicki I need to talk to you." She put the last dish she was washing on the drying rack and went to get the phone, taking it off of speaker. Damon walked in and pulled his plate of pancakes and sausage from the warmer.

"What's up?"

"Dr. Reynolds called me back and told me she doesn't have an opening until three weeks from now." Nickis stomach dropped once again. She had forgotten all about last night. And now to hear she would have to wait three weeks to know if she was carrying another man besides her fiancee baby was nerve racking. "Nicki are you there?"

"Uhh yeah, are you sure she can't squeeze me in?" she whispered so Damon wouldn't start asking questions.

"Trust me I asked and asked some more, she can't budge unless someone cancels."

"Fine then we'll just have to wait."

"Yeah I guess so. What time do you want me there?"

"As soon as possible, we still need to talk about what happened." she turned around and leaned against the counter staring at Damon, he was wiping Zarias mouth for her.

"Thank you Mr. Damon." she said.

"Alright call me when you get back from dropping the kids off."

"Okay." she hung up the phone. "Alright gang go upstairs and get your backpacks. Remember to get your sheet with the three math problems we went over yesterday and give them to Mrs. Jones. She went and picked up the kids plates.

"Got a busy day today?"

"Yeah, I have that meeting with Sony Pictures for that action movie. The Barbs are going to spazz if I land the role." Nicki smiled thinking about her other babies. Team Minaj had been going strong and growing. She had well over 15 million followers on twitter. "Then I'm in talks with Pixar for a some new animated movie. Wayne needs to see me about something as well and on top of that me and Safaree have to take cupcakes up to the school for the kids party."

"What's the party for?"

"I don't know, they ask I bring." she was wiping off the table. Damon pulled her into his lap.

"Slow down super woman." she kissed her dimple when she smiled. "Take a breather."

"I can't afford to do that babe." she kissed his lips. "I have a million and one calls to make as well before the day is over." she got up taking his plate.

"I wasn't done." she looked at the piece of sausage on his plate, she picked it up and tossed it in her mouth.

"No you are. Don't you have a plane to catch sir?" he looked at his watch.

"Damn I forgot all about that, I swear you'll make a brotha forget to breath." he went and grabbed her by her hips pulling her into a sensual kiss. Nicki wrapped her arms around his neck wanting more. She felt a tug on her pants.

"Mommy!" Ethan shouted. She jumped back from Damon as if she was a teenager being caught on the steps of her house sucking face with her boyfriend. She wiped her mouth.

"What is it Ethan?" he looked from her to him then back to her. She thought to herself, "This boy is to much for his age."

"We have a...um.. trip to the zoo." he handed her the permission slip. She read it seeing that it was due today.

"Man Man why didn't you give this to me sooner? Go get your sisters and a pen." he ran out. "Stop running in my house." she turned her attention back to Damon. "Well sir you better go before you miss your plane. Here." She turned and handed him his coffee container filled with his favorite Colombian coffee blend. "Call me when you get there."

"I will." he kissed her one last time then was off to the hall closet to get his coat. He grabbed his bag and left.

Ethan entered the kitchen with his sisters. She handed him his permission slip back and searched in the girls bags for theirs.

"Mommy can you come like the other mommies do?" Ethan asked.

"The Barbs Ethan, duh." Daria said.

"Daria don't say duh to your brother." she stuffed the papers back into their bags. "But she's right Ethan, If I go then I wouldn't get to have fun with you guys because everyone would be surrounding us. And you know how daddy gets when people crowd you guys."

"Yeah daddy gave a boo boo to that mans nose." Daria said a little to excited.

"Alright slugger head towards the door." Nicki grabbed her purse and jacket and headed out the door with them. The whole way to the day care she couldn't stop thinking about the conversation she was going to have with Safaree.
