Wedding Bells...

*Well we made it, here is what you guys haven't been waiting for. Enjoy.*


The downstairs of Nicki's home was lively for a Saturday morning. Today was her big day, she was getting married. Her mom and Safaree's mom were getting all the bridesmaids in the hair and make-up chairs. Martin was on the phone taking care of business. It looked like the scene from a movie, girls walking around have dressed talking, laughing and drinking mimosas.  It was only 9am so the mothers decided to let Nicki sleep in but it was about time for her to get up and start getting ready, she had to be at the church at noon. The triplets were in the upstairs hallway trying to figure out what they should do.

"Nana said leave her alone." Zaria pleaded.

"But he said to go talk to her." Daria reached for the doorknob but Ethan pushed her hand.

"We gonna get in trouble." Ethan whispered.

"Stop being a scaredy cat." Daria taunted.

"I am not."

"Come on then." she looked at him. Ethan knew he wasn't but he didn't want to be a scaredy cat.

"Okay." he agreed. Zaria had no choice she was going where ever they were at.

Daria twisted the doorknob and opened the door up. They all looked at the bed and seen a small lump in the bed buried under the plush comforter. The three tip toed over and used the foot stool to climb onto the bed.

"Where is she?" Zaria whispered to Daria, she just shrugged her shoulders.

"We should go back to our room." Ethan said looking at the lump.

Zaria found the edge of the comforter and pulled it back a little revealing her mothers face. She put her finger up to her mouth and "shh" the other two. She pulled it back enough where it would stay. They got a little closer and just stared at her not knowing what to do. Ethan moved a piece of her hair out of her face, he thought his mommy was the prettiest mommy in the world.

"Wake her up." Daria told Zaria.

"You do it." she snapped back.

All of a sudden Nicki grabbed them all and they screamed as loud as they could. Nicki laughed at them, she had been up when they opened the door. She began tickling them which sent them into a fit of giggles.

"What are you three up to?" She asked but they were still laughing. "Answer me." she hit them with her pillow.

"Mommy stop." Ethan giggled out.

"Mommy? Wait are these my children?" She picked Zaria up and stared at her hard. "Well you look like my baby girl." She picked up Ethan's leg and smelled his foot. "Yeah you smell like my Ethan." she acted like his foot stunk.

"Heyyy." He said pouting.

"Mommy's just playing. Give me my kisses you guys, I've missed you." They all tried to hug her at once.

"I seen you when I went to sleep." Daria said sitting in Nicki's lap.

"That was a whole 10 hours ago." Nicki kissed her cheek. "I love you guys, did you know that?"

"Yes." They answered.

"What were you three up to?" she ran her hand over Ethan's head.

"Nothing, we wanted to see you."

"Mommy I seen your dress." Zaria said smiling.

"You did? Is it as pretty as the day you saw it?" Zaria shook her head yes. "It is? Well then mommy is going to look pretty today then huh?"

"You always look pretty." Daria said.

"Aw thank you mommies baby."

"Mommy where is daddy?" Ethan asked.

Nicki didn't know what to tell him. She knew that Safaree had called and talked to the kids for the last two days but no one knew where he was at.

"He had to go away for a little while but he'll be back baby." was all she could come up with, she silently prayed that he would come back soon.

"Will he be at the wedding?" Zaria asked.

"Maybe." she said forcing a smile. "Let's watch some cartoons." She gave Ethan the remote. They settled in and watched Spongebob. Nicki heard her mothers voice in the hallway.

"I know they didn't go wake her up." the triplets looked at each other and slid down in the bed under the covers. Nicki looked at them and was about to ask them what was going on when her mom came in with a tray of food. "Are those three in here?" Nicki glanced at the bed and saw Zaria shake her head no.

"Um no haven't seen them, you lost my kids ma?" Nicki pointed at the bed and her mom put the tray on the nightstand.

"I guess I did, well I guess we will have to send all of Zaria's clothes and give Daria and Ethan's toys and balls to the homeless children." Mrs.Carol said.

Zaria was the first up out of the bed.

"Noooo not my clothes." She ran out the room with the other two hot on her trail.

"Oh they're they go." her mom said. Nicki laughed and put the tray over her legs.

"Is this mine?" she bit a piece of bacon.

"If it wasn't you sure don't care."

"Sure don't this is my house." She smiled. "Sit with me mommy." Her mom crawled in the bed and sat next to her.

"So how are you feeling baby?"

"I'm ready." She said stuffing her face.

"You don't sound excited."

"Ma please don't start, I'm excited." Nicki didn't want to hear her mouth this early in the morning.

"I'll leave it alone. I just want to see my baby happy." Mrs. Carol stared at her at she ate her food. "Well I got to get back down stairs, those girls will sit and drink all morning if you let them."

"Alright, if you wouldn't mind can you take this back. I'm about to get in the tub. Tell Terrence to be ready for me in a hour. And tell Lauren and Candi to bring the dress in here and hang it in my closet. Oh and-" Mama Carol cut her off.

"Onika I'm not your personal assistant." and with that she left. Nicki knew she would do what she asked. She went and started her bath water. While brushing her teeth she made a couple f mental notes to take of before she left for the honeymoon. She spit in the sink and turned off the sink. Disrobing she got in the hot water and soaked for a bit. She wanted to here from Safaree, she needed him to tell her everything would be okay. She felt tears falling down her cheek, they were quickly wiped away she was sick of crying. She washed her body and got out. Nicki went into the bedroom to dry off and lotion up.

Safaree

How could she love him more than me? I love her more than he ever could. She's supposed to be my fairy tale ending not his. We are supposed to get married and raise our kids as a complete family. Safaree stared at the ceiling in the same clothes he was wearing at the rehearsal dinner. He was at the Trump in a suite about two hours away from the church Nicki was getting married at. He wanted to see his kids but he knew he would have to see her and he didn't know if he could handle it. He knew Zaria and Daria would be just as beautiful as their mother in their flower girl dresses. And Ethan in his identical tux to Safaree's. He needed to talk to someone. His cell had died two days ago and he didn't have his charger so he used the hotel phone to call his mother. When she picked it sounded as if it was a party going on.

"Hello." she answered.

"Ma."

"Safaree is that you?"

"Yeah it's me."

"Hold on let me go to a different room." He heard the commotion fade. "Okay, baby where are you?"

"I'm fine mom. How are the kids?"

"You would know if you were here."

"Ma please don't start, how are they?"

"Nicki said they asked about you earlier and she didn't know what to tell them. You need to come here and talk out whatever is going on between you two."

"There is only one way this can be worked out and she's not willing to do it."

"Safaree if you are talking about the little affair you two have been having for the past two months I know about it and so does Carol."

"What? How did you find out?" he stood up shocked.

"Boy we are your mothers and the way you two acted around each other we knew something was up. It took us a minute to figure it out but we seen you two come out of the closet together fixing your clothes at one of the get togethers. But we're not talking about that, Safaree you love that girl. Get here and tell her before it's to late."

"Mom she doesn't love me back, she wants Damon and I'm not going to stand in her way."

"You and I both know that's bullshit. She loves you, you just to pig headed to see. Safaree she's scared to put her feelings out there for you first, you left her." she slightly yelled.

"And I regret ever doing it ma but she acts like she could care less about how I feel." Safaree yelled becoming angry that his mother was taking her side. "Why are you so concerned about her? You don't care that I'm hurt."

"Of course I care Safaree, I never want my baby boy hurting. But Nicki has been in my life a long time, she's like my daughter. I just want you both to be happy, baby come by the house." his mom pleaded. Safaree wasn't trying to hear that.

"Naw I'm good where I am ma. I'll just talk to you later, give my babies a kiss for me and tell them I love them. I love you mom." He hung up the phone.

Safaree went over the conversation with his mom in his head. His mom acted like he wasn't afraid to love her just like she supposedly afraid to love him. She put him through a lot, he had a reason for his actions three years ago. He went and got in the shower to relieve some of the tension in his body.

Damon

Damon sat in his hotel in uptown New York going over his vows. He was as nervous as a whore in the church house for a couple of reasons. He was scared about marrying Nicki and the fact that Martin had taken Nicki's financial records to an accountant. He hoped he had went back far enough and made changes to where they didn't find the fraud. He loved Nicki and didn't want to go through with his plan but he was in to deep now, he had to finish it. He sat staring at the diamond wedding band he was going to slip on her finger in a couple of hours. He needed his best friend there with him but he knew that couldn't happen.

Nicki
She sat in the chair while Day put the finishing touches on her make-up, she kept fidgeting in her seat. Nicki had a feeling that something was going to happen today. Her imagination was getting the best of her, she took a deep breath while Day stroked her cheek with a brush. She had just gotten a text from Damon saying that Phil wouldn't be able to make it because he had to fly back to Kentucky for an emergency. This annoyed Nicki because he was supposed to be paired with Lauren and now she had no one. Terrence was putting more pins in the bun on top of her head. When he was done he decided to wait to insert the flower on the side of the bun.

"Okay all done." Terrence said standing back looking at his work.

"Me too." said Day. "Take a look." Day handed her a mirror.

Nicki stared at her reflection and marveled at the great job the two had done.

"Thanks you guys, you're the best team ever. I guess it's time for the dress, Lauren can you get it for me?" Lauren went and brought the dress out the closet. Terrence and Day packed up their things and left out so she could get dressed, Lauren stayed to help her.

Nicki disrobed and stepped into her dress, Lauren zipped it in the back. Both went to adjusting and making sure it looked right on her. Nicki kept fixing her breast in the dress, she didn't want a malfunction to happen on her way down the aisle in the church.

"How do I look?" Nicki turned to Lauren.

"You look amazing."

"Is my hair and everything still fine? Did I get make-up on the dress?" Lauren held her friends hand.

"Everything is fine, calm down." She smiled at Nicki. "Just worry about getting down that aisle." Nicki took a deep breath.

"Lauren I'm scared." Nicki confessed.

"All brides get nervous, it's natural." There was a knock at the door then Mrs. Carol appeared.

"Are you almost ready Nicki?"

"Yes ma'am. Are the kids dressed?"

"Yes they are taken care of and sitting on the couch like the good children they are. And you better hurry up, Z-bear is having a fit."

"Why?"

"She wants to see you in the dress." Nicki smiled.

"Tell her I'll be down in five minutes."

"Okay baby." her mom hugged her. "You look beautiful."

"Thank you mom." she left the room. "Lauren can you go get T and tell him to come put the flower in my hair so we can leave?"

"Sure."

Nicki sat on her bed taking the little time she had to clear her mind. She kept hearing all the negative stuff people have said about her and the marriage. She just wanted peace in her life and she felt like she would get that today at the alter. Terrence cam in the room.

"Can you do me a favor?" Nicki asked as he grabbed the flower.

"Depends."

"Can you stand in for Phil as Damon's best man so it will be even." Terrence looked at the distress on her face.

"It would be my honor to be in the Queens wedding." He said smiling.

"Thank you T, what would I do without you?"

"Wearing that same crimped black and pink hair." they laughed together.

Hour & Half Later

Nicki stood at the back of the church as Carla prepped the wedding party. She was fixing a couple strands of Daria's hair. The kids were jittery and Nicki was getting agitated because they were never like this. On the way over to the church it was like they're whole mood changed. Ethan started screaming he wanted his daddy, Daria was trying to come out of her dress claiming it was itchy, and Zaria just had a really bad attitude. Nicki needed Safaree but as usual he had ran like a little boy when things didn't go his way.

"Alright people, get in order. We are about to begin, Nicki can you get the children under control?" Carla asked then whispered something in her mic.

"I'm trying." Nicki knelt down in front the triplet's. "Okay you guy's you have to behave and be the angels mommy knows you can be. Ethan here's your pillow, please don't drop it baby. You two remember to stay together."

"I don't want to do it no more mommy." Ethan said trying to give her back the pillow.

"Please don't do this to mommy Ethan, I need you to be a big boy."

"Where's daddy?" He whined.

"I don't know Ethan." She snapped at him and regretted it immediately as she seen his eyes water. It wasn't his fault. She pulled him to her and hugged him. "I'm sorry baby but can you please do this for mommy?" She felt him shake his head yes. "Thank you." she stood him up straight and fixed his tux. "Are you okay girls?" she grabbed each of their hands.

"Yes mommy." Daria said.

"Nicki are we ready?" Carla asked.

"Yes." She stood up and put the kids in front of her. "We can start." Nicki moved back to the side so that no one would see her before time.

"And cue music." Carla whispered into the mic.

The music began and the doors opened and the processional started with Iesha and Rex leading. Nicki watched as one by one her friends disappeared into the sanctuary. Next thing she knew Ethan was up next to enter, he looked back at her terrified of all the people inside the church. Nicki gave him a thumbs up and he began walking. Carla cued the girls to start walking when Ethan made it half way down the aisle. When they began the doors closed so she could get into position. Nicki inhaled and took the bouquet from Carla.

"This is what we worked for, let's do this." Nicki whispered to herself then nodded to Carla.

"Cue music."

When the guest heard the Wedding March play that all stood and the doors opened revealing Nicki. She began moving down the aisle looking over all the faces, some she knew, some she would get to know. She looked ahead at Damon who was smiling big, Nicki smiled back. She made it to the alter and he helped her step up. She got herself situated then gave the preacher the go ahead.

"Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here in the sight of God and in the presence of these witnesses, to join Damon and Onika in holy matrimony, which is an honorable estate, instituted of God in the time of man's innocence, signifying to us the mystical union which is between Christ and His Church. Which holy estate Christ adorned and beautified with His presence at the first miracle which He wrought in Cana of Galilee; and is commended of the Apostle Paul to be honorable among all men, and is therefore not to be entered into lightly or inadvisable, but reverently, discreetly, and in the fear of God. Into which holy estate Damon and Onika come now to be joined and to unite two hearts and lives, blending all interest, sympathies, and hopes. I charge and entreat you, therefore, in entering upon and sustaining this hallowed union, to seek the favor and blessing of Him whose favor is life, whose blessing make the rich and addeth no sorrow. Let us now seek His blessing." Preacher Turner began praying.

"And let the church say Amen."

"Amen." everyone said in unison.

Nicki and Damon looked at each other, Damon gave her a wink and gave his focus back to the preacher.

"If anyone objects to this marriage, speak now or forever hold your peace." The preacher asked. He waited a minute or so. "Okay we-"

"I object." Came from four different areas of the church. Mrs. Carol, Mrs. Davenport, Some man in shades that no one could make out, and the last from Safaree at the back of the church.

Nicki turned around to look at all of them but locked eyes with Safaree. Martin was helping him tuck in his shirt and getting him into his suit jacket. Safaree called Martin and told him what he needed to do and Martin was more than happy to help. Safaree did 100 on the highway getting to the church.

"What?" Damon asked.

"Well I've never had this happen before. Well what's the reasoning, Mrs. Carol." Nicki broke from Safaree's gaze and looked her mother in the eye.

"Onika you're my only daughter and I've let you make your mistakes so you can learn from them but this marriage I feel is a mistake and I can't let you do it. You don't love this man and you never will love him the way you are supposed to love your husband. I can't say I know where your heart resides that only you can say. Marriage is a forever commitment, are you sure you can make that to him?" Nicki looked over at Damon who had a baffled look on his face then back to her mom. "That's it, I've said my peace. It is now up to you baby." Mrs. Carol said.

"Son?" The preacher was gesturing towards Safaree. "What's your reason?"

"I love her." the crowd began to gasp and whisper to each other.

"What the hell Safaree?" Damon yelled walking towards Safaree with clenched fist but Rex, Wayne, and Baby stood in front of him letting him know it would be none of that.

"I'm sorry Damon." He looked around at all the eyes on him, it was now or never. "Nicki you're supposed to be mine wife not his. And I won't sit back and watch him take the only woman besides my mother who has ever just loved me for me, no judgment. We have always been there for each other. I can't imagine my life without you, ever since we were kids I saw you in my future as old people together." he walked up to her. "I need you and I know you need me. No more running away from our problems, I'll stay until we have an understanding. I love you and I can't see myself without you Onika. I know whatever you need I can do for you. I can be all the man you need baby please don't marry him, I'm the one you want the one you need." Safaree grabbed her hand. "Baby please. I can't guarantee I won't ever hurt you because I'm not perfect but I can promise I will spend everyday after trying to make it up to you. Just give me a chance Nicki."

Nicki had tears coming down her cheek, she had never seen him this vulnerable  in front of so many people. Nicki wiped the one tear that managed to escape his ducts. She began to speak but was cut off.

"Well that's cute and everything but can i give my reason." the man with the shades on said.

Damon's head snapped in his direction quickly. Nicki looked at the, his voice sounded familiar but she couldn't place it. Everyone turned and gave him the attention he asked for.

"And who are you sir?" the preacher asked.

"Phil." Nicki said confused. She thought Damon said he couldn't make it. He smirked at her.

"I'm Phil, Damon's best friend and Lover." The church was once again filled with gasps and whispers. Damon's eyes grew wide.

Nicki stood in shock at Phil's confession, she had a blank expression on her face. She never put two and two together, neither seemed liked the type.

"His..his what?" Nicki asked.

"You heard me right his lover."

"Shut up Phil."

"NO Damon! That's the reason your in this mess your in now, marrying some girl you don't love." Phil shouted. Damon looked at Nicki but she wouldn't look at him.

"I love her."

"That's the problem. You were never supposed to catch feelings, you were supposed to stick to the plan."

"Plan?" Nicki and Safaree said looking at Damon.

"I didn't want to do it anymore but he blackmailed me, you were never supposed to find out Nicki."

"What plan Damon?" Nicki yelled. Damon just looked at the ground.

"You're so pathetic." Phil said with disgust. "The plan was for him to marry you, embezzle money and leave you after six months. But he started carrying for you, so it took us a minute but we got the money."

"The $500,000." Nicki said out loud. "How could you?" She asked Damon. "How long have you been sleeping with him?"

"Since college. When he met you we were going through a rough patch, and you just wouldn't go away. But you didn't have what it took to please him and that's when he came crawling back to my bed." Nicki felt sick.

"Oh my God, you've slept with me and him. Do you have something?" She looked at Damon.

"No Nicki." Damon shook his head

"You sick bastard." Safaree ran towards him but was held back by Wayne, and Mack.

Nicki fell to her knees crying. She felt sick to her stomach, the possibility of her having HIV or AIDS made her stomach churn. She looked up and the whole church was staring at her, she felt like a goldfish in a fish bowl.

"Safaree." She said barely above a whisper. Safaree was still trying to get to Damon. "Safaree. Safaree. Safaree." She yelled his name finally getting his attention. "Get me out of here." Safaree went and picked her up and walked swiftly to the back of the church and out the doors. He found a room and took Nicki inside it locking them in. He stood her up and she began pacing. "I'm hot Safaree." She start pulling at the the necklace around her neck, she ripped it off. "Safaree get the dress of me please." She was crying hysterically at this point. Safaree searched for the zipper when he found it it only went down a fraction of the way.

"It's stuck."

"Rip it." She yelled out. Safaree grabbed each side and tore the dress apart. Nicki hurriedly got out of it and knelt down holding herself. Safaree was trying to process all that happened. Someone began pounding on the door.

"Nicki I need to talk to you." Damon yelled out. Safaree became angry and charged the door.

"Safaree please...no." he stopped in his tracks. "Hold me please." he went back and picked her up and sat on the couch holding her tight. "What if I have-"

"Shhh, don't worry. We'll go get tested together, you're not alone baby. I need you to calm yourself." He kissed her forehead. They sat there blocking out all the commotion going on on the other side of the door. Neither knew what would happen from here on out but both knew they couldn't be without the other.
